City of Lewiston, Idaho seeks an accomplished fire service leader to serve as Deputy Fire Chief, overseeing Fire, EMS and rescue operations for Lewiston. You will mentor staff, manage complex incidents, and drive strategic initiatives with the Fire Chief.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in fire science or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience at the level of Battalion Chief, or five years of responsibility at the company officer level (including verified acting out-of-class experience at or above the company officer level).
• ICS 300 and 400 or equivalency.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Maintain valid Idaho and Washington EMS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Fire Chief in leading a fire staff of 69 fire personnel in providing Fire, EMS, Hazardous Materials and rescue services to the Lewiston community.
• Directs operations of responding companies and coordinates rehabilitation of personnel.
• Supervises the work of all personnel within assigned division(s) and ensures compliance with SOPs and guidelines.
• Develops budgets, monitors division budgets and prepares reports.
• Acts as Acting Fire Chief as designated.
