Job summary

The Deputy Executive Director provides professional operational support to the Executive Director of the Board of Dentistry at the Virginia Department of Health Professions. The role manages disciplinary processes, assists with licensing, board policy, and agency operations, with strong technical skills and proficiency in data entry, MS Office and G-Suite.

The position will not be eligible for telework until after a 6-month evaluation.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of laws, regs, and procedures for regulating professional occupations and disciplinary case adjudication.
• Expertise in interpreting Virginia's Administrative Process Act and case management decisions.
• Proficient computer skills, keyboarding, and MS Office Suite & G-Suite knowledge.
• Ability to independently train, manage, and supervise employees with performance evaluations.
• Strong written and oral communication with senior management, board members, licensees, and the public.
• Ability to analyze patient records, billing records, and legal documents for case management.
