Job summary

The City of Deerfield Beach is seeking an experienced Planning Manager to oversee the Planning and Development Services Department and guide growth management strategies. You will supervise staff, coordinate zoning, subdivision, annexation, and long-range planning efforts, and liaise with developers, contractors, and the public.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a related field, at least five years of supervisory experience in urban planning, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, public admin, geography, architecture, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible supervisory experience in urban planning or related field.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Knowledge of GIS, zoning, and long-range planning.

Responsibilities

• Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff; directs work, counsels, disciplines, and completes performance appraisals.
• Coordinates, assigns and reviews work; establishes work schedules; maintains standards and monitors progress.
