Job summary

AMP Concerts in Albuquerque, NM seeks a Deputy Director to lead programming, booking, partnerships, outreach, fundraising, and nonprofit administration. The role involves coordinating artist and venue bookings, negotiating with agents, supporting event production, and serving as a public face with artists, audiences, volunteers, partners, and staff.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of experience in performing arts management or nonprofit management is required.
• Demonstrated experience maintaining positive relationships with talent, venues, staff, vendors, and partners; strong communication skills including grant writing, site content, event announcements, newsletters, and internal documents.
• Experience managing teams, supervising staff, working independently, and meeting deadlines.
• Experience developing and implementing strategic plans, budgets, and understanding financial statements (P&L, balance sheets)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; proficiency with standard office software; ability to travel to daytime/evening events across central/northern NM.
• Physical ability to lift up to 30 pounds and set up equipment; able to navigate outdoor venues in various conditions.
• Preferred: negotiating contracts with artists and an existing network of contacts.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate bookings for AMP’s concerts and events across multiple venues.
• Negotiate contract terms with agents and managers to support successful events.
• Support show production and on-site coordination, serving as a public face to artists and audiences.
• Develop and manage partnerships, outreach, and community programs in coordination with leadership.
• Support fundraising, development, and donor relations activities.
• Contribute to strategic planning and program development to advance AMP’s mission.
