Job summary

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod seeks an ordained LCMS pastor with a Master of Divinity or higher and extensive active-duty military experience to lead its Ministry to the Armed Forces from the International Center in St. Louis.

This role reports to the Director for Ministry to the Armed Forces and coordinates with partner chaplains across services. Responsibilities include developing policies and programs, representing the Director in official matters, mentoring seminary candidates, and

Qualifications

• Active member of LCMS congregation and faithful to Scriptures
• Ordained pastor with LCMS credentials
• Master of Divinity or higher required

Responsibilities

• Supports the Director in the development and execution of all policies, plans, and operations of the Ministry to the Armed Forces.
• Represents the Director in all administrative matters in their absence.
• Assists in the planning and execution of chaplain professional development training seminars and Operation Barnabas events.
• Mentors chaplain seminarian candidates and networks with seminary recruiters and faculty.
• Collaborates effectively with both the Ministry to the Armed Forces and the Office of International Mission teams.
• Complies with revisions to this position description and performs other duties as assigned.
