Job summary

County of Imperial in El Centro, CA, seeks an experienced Deputy County Counsel to provide legal counsel to the County, its boards, commissions and officers; draft pleadings, summaries, stipulations, agreements and court orders; and conduct legal research. The role includes appellate work in federal and state courts.

This position supports staff, may supervise others, and requires a California Bar license. Pre-employment steps may include drug testing, physical examination and background checks.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in California.
• Experience with civil/government law preferred.
• Ability to manage complex cases and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pleadings, summaries, stipulations, agreements and court orders.
