Deputy County Clerk: Vitals Cashier/Floater

Job Summary
Reporting directly to a County Clerk Division Coordinator or Supervisor, responsible for performing clerical duties that support the daily operations of the Williamson County Clerk’s Office.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Provides direct customer service in person or by phone
  • Collects payments for court costs and manages front counter till
  • Creates and maintains reports, forms, worksheets, and informational materials
  • Ensures filing systems are maintained and up to date
  • Assists in planning and executing projects and events
  • Assists with policy and procedure updates
  • Uses legal references for research on laws and procedures
  • Copies, files, audits invoices, and verifies data in systems
  • Cross-trains with staff to ensure departmental continuity
  • Attends meetings and trainings as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Vitals Assignment

  • Indexes birth, death, and marriage documents
  • Issues burial transit permits
  • Downloads and reviews state files for accuracy

Organization Relationships

  • Reports to – County Clerk Division Coordinator or Supervisor
  • Direct Reports – None

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged sitting, visual examination of documents, reaching, walking, twisting, bending, standing, and occasional lifting

Environmental Factors

  • Primarily indoor work in an air-conditioned environment

Irregular Hours

  • May require work outside normal hours (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
  • May be considered essential personnel during emergencies

Minimum Qualifications
