Job summary

The Democratic National Committee is seeking a Deputy Chief Operating Officer to support the COO in managing day‑to‑day operations, HR, and policy across the organization during a fast‑paced campaign cycle. The Deputy COO will act as a thought partner, helping expand processes and develop strategic initiatives for coordinated campaigns.

The position requires strong leadership, experience in operations management, and the ability to implement systems, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have a track record of leading operational initiatives and managing cross-functional teams.
• Experience in personnel management, budgeting, and strategic planning.
• Ability to implement processes, monitor controls, and adapt in a fast-paced campaign environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the COO in providing operational leadership across HR, staff, security, travel, events, contracts, DEI, state support, and asset-tracking.
• Collaborate on compliance, insurance, and policy matters affecting internal and external operations.
• Counsel the COO on significant operational issues and organizational events.
• Help develop, implement, and communicate new or revised systems and procedures.
• Support development of short- and long-range goals, with measures of effectiveness and internal controls.
• Represent the COO and the DNC in meetings with various stakeholders.
• Build relationships with external partners and monitor department activities to remove impediments.
• Assist in overseeing Operations Facility Management teams and ensure a safe work environment.
• Support other duties and special projects aligned with the DNC mission.
