Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of South Carolina Code of Laws.
• Knowledge of policies and procedures of the Oconee County Sheriff's Office.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Physical and mental abilities for known law enforcement work and in apprehending suspects.

Responsibilities

• Work with local organizations to assist the homeless population in Oconee.
• Respond to service calls regarding criminal and illegal activities.
• Patrol assigned areas and deter criminal activities.
• Investigate criminal cases and prepare reports.
• Attend training and court hearings as required.
• Transport mentally-challenged patients to facilities and assist motorists in need.
