Job summary

The NYS Office of Information Technology Services seeks a Deputy Commissioner for Technology to help guide ITS initiatives and align IT investments with agency goals. The role collaborates with the Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer to support statewide IT strategy and governance.

The incumbent will participate in governance boards, advise on budgets and project portfolios, and lead cross-agency technology programs to deliver enterprise-wide IT solutions that meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of experience in developing, leading, and managing critical technology projects.
• Progressive leadership experience in technology initiatives and cross-functional teams.
• Experience communicating complex IT concepts to executives and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer in aligning IT activities with agency needs and statewide business goals.
• Participate in ITS governance and portfolio management to inform IT investments and budgets.
• Oversee planning, delivery, and operation of IT services and initiatives consistent with the NYS IT Strategic Plan.
• Lead cross-agency collaboration to maximize IT resources and ensure customer-focused outcomes.
