Job summary

The City of Appleton Wisconsin seeks a Deputy Director/City Engineer to provide leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of Engineering, Traffic, and Parking within the Department of Public Works. You will guide planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of infrastructure, transportation systems, and related programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, PE registration preferred.
• Experience leading civil/public works projects and staff management.
• Ability to manage budgets and capital improvement programs.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for Engineering, Traffic, and Parking functions within the Department of Public Works.
• Develop and oversee long-range infrastructure and capital improvement plans.
• Manage operating and capital budgets and funding opportunities.
• Supervise managers and staff and coordinate with city leadership and external partners.
• Represent the department at meetings and ensure regulatory compliance.
