The City of Los Angeles, Bureau of Engineering, seeks a dynamic Deputy City Engineer to guide the Engineering Services Program and lead a team of engineers and specialists in delivering critical public works projects. The role focuses on policy development, design standards, and cross-department collaboration to advance resilient city infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have a strong civil engineering background, leadership in capital project delivery, and a commitment to equitable and safe

Formación

• Education – Graduation from a recognized four-year college or university with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering. Master’s degree welcomed.
• Licensed Civil Engineer required in California within one year of appointment.
• Experience leading major civil projects or equivalent management at senior levels.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee Engineering Services Program as part of the Executive Leadership Team.
• Provide technical oversight for storm response, hillside mitigation, and emergency repairs.
• Lead policy development and design standards updates across the Bureau.
• Coordinate with City officials and other departments.
