Job summary
Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM, seeks a dynamic Deputy CIO & Chief Information Security Officer to lead enterprise cybersecurity and align with DOE/NNSA requirements. The role reports to the CIO and steers risk management, governance, and security operations across classified and unclassified environments while enabling research, AI, cloud adoption, and modernization.
The ideal candidate has extensive senior leadership experience in cybersecurity and IT, a bachelor's degree
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 12 years related experience with senior leadership in cybersecurity/IT.
- Extensive experience in enterprise cybersecurity strategy, governance, and risk management for national security environments.
- Knowledge of NIST RMF/CSF, DOE/NNSA requirements, FISMA, and related standards.
Responsibilities
- Establish and mature an enterprise cybersecurity program aligned with DOE/NNSA requirements.
- Lead cyber risk management, incident response, and continuous monitoring across classified/unclassified environments.
- Provide executive oversight of ATO, authorization boundaries, and audit readiness.
- Partner with CIO and Laboratory leadership to align cybersecurity with technology strategy and modernization.
