This position serves as deputy to the Chief Court Administrator and provides assistance in planning, organizing, directing, administering and coordinating the operations and support services for the First Circuit Court on Oahu. The position is responsible for the overall management of the division's branches comprised of three areas: 1) Fiscal Management Branch; 2) Project Management Branch; and 3) Facilities Management Section which includes serving as the building and emergency/security manager for the First Circuit. Additionally, the position coordinates and manages all fiscal, maintenance and construction projects operations for the First Circuit, and may assume the duties and responsibilities of the Chief Court Administrator in his/her absence.
Education Requirements: Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a bachelor’s degree. Excess work experience as described under Specialized Experience below, or any other responsible administrative, professional or analytical work experience which provided knowledge and abilities comparable to those acquired in four (4) years of successful study while completing a college or university curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. To be acceptable, the experience must have been of such scope, level and quality as to assure the possession of comparable knowledge and abilities. The education or experience background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material; and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
For purposes of this section, non-supervisory and supervisory work experience performing and/or supervising general clerical tasks is not qualifying.
One (1) year of Staff Specialist or Supervisory Experience as defined below.
One (1) year of progressively responsible work experience in a court or legal setting, social work or administrative program of the courts which involved active participation in and major responsibility for the development of policies and procedures; and the development, management, execution and coordination of program operations and activities.
Substitution of Education for Specialized Experience:
