Base pay range

$200,000.00/yr - $275,000.00/yr

Deputy CCO (New York, NY): Our client, a multi strategy hedge fund is seeking a new Deputy CCO to join its dynamic team. This individual will report directly to the Global CCO, based in the U.S., and collaborate closely with an experienced and high-performing Global Compliance Team. The role offers exposure to a wide range of compliance functions, and the successful candidate will be expected to take on a broad and varied set of responsibilities across the firm’s regulatory and operational compliance programs.

• WFH policy: 4 days in the office and 1 day from home
• Compensation: 400-550k all in, depending on experience

Responsibilities:

• Assist the CCO in managing the firm’s overall compliance framework, including policy development, implementation, and testing.
• Oversee and manage daily compliance operations.
• Directly manage compliance staff, providing coaching, and performance feedback.
• Delegate and oversee tasks, while maintaining a high degree of transparency with the CCO.
• Foster a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Ensure the firm remains in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.
• Prepare for and assist with regulatory exams, audits, and inquiries.
• Supervise pre- and post-trade surveillance, restricted lists, and MNPI controls.
• Work with technology and operations teams to enhance compliance systems and tools.
• Lead regular compliance training sessions for employees across the firm.

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience at a hedge fund.
• In-depth knowledge of, and experience with, SEC, CFTC, and NFA regulatory regimes.
• Strong product knowledge, including equities, fixed income, commodities and credit.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, shifting priorities quickly and effectively.
• Experience managing junior team members and cultivating top tier talent.
• Ability to work cross-functionally, and smoothly advance key compliance projects.
• Strong attention to detail; excellent communication, judgment and organizational skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and common compliance systems (e.g., Code of Ethics).
• Bachelor’s degree required; J.D., M.B.A. or other advanced degree preferred.
