Job description

Brendan Leddy is running to flip Michigan State House District 52 by prioritizing community values. He's driven by three principles: fighting excessive development, bringing costs down, and investing in education.

The campaign is seeking an ambitious campaign staffer for logistical support, especially in fundraising, including but not limited to the following areas below:

Key responsibilities and duties
  • Media and Messaging: Support candidate in online presence ensuring regular updates and producing consistent messaging throughout all campaign communications.
  • Policy analysis: Analyze current and proposed policies relevant to the district and campaign, particularly focusing on state-level initiatives.
  • Campaign finance: lead donor research and financial reporting, organizing budgeting and resource allocation.

All interested parties are encouraged to apply, however, applicants with the following backgrounds will be preferred:

Preferred qualifications
  • Majors in political science, communications, or relevant fields. Equivalent experience will be noted.
  • Knowledge of state-level election processes and policies.
  • Residence in Michigan is strongly preferred.
  • Passion for politics and the candidates' supported policies is expected.

Salary is flexible according to fundraising and overall campaign success, particularly election results, but begins at $250. This is an internship generally focused on college students and is an independent contractor role.
