Job summary

The City of Sidney's Municipal Court seeks a deputy bailiff to ensure security and order within the court premises under the Chief Probation Officer.

Requirements include high school diploma or GED, at least six months of security or bailiff experience or training, Ohio driver’s license, and weapons and LEADS certifications or ability to obtain them. This position supports court operations and public service with professional standards.

Under the direct authority of the Chief Probation Officer, the deputy bailiff is responsible for the security of the Municipal Court.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of secondary education or equivalent (high school diploma or GED); minimum of six (6) months of security or bailiff experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle insurance policy; weapons and L.E.A.D.S certifications required or must be able to obtain such certifications within the required period.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED

Motor vehicle, electronic monitoring equipment; firearm; pepper spray; radio; personal computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, printer, calculator, and other standard office equipment.
