Job summary

Delaware Department of Justice in Sussex County seeks Deputy Attorneys General to prosecute serious crimes, oversee complex investigations, and advocate in court. As part of the Criminal Division, you will review cases, negotiate pleas, and try cases with a focus on public safety and justice for victims.

Qualifications

• Membership in the Delaware Bar or Rule 55 Eligible is required.
• Experience evaluating cases, charging decisions and trial advocacy.
• Ability to collaborate with detectives, medical personnel, child welfare professionals, and other prosecutors.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute serious and complex criminal cases, including homicide and violent offenses.
• Review, charge, prosecute and try cases; conduct hearings and plea negotiations.
• Provide legal guidance to law enforcement during investigations and investigations support.
• Maintain regular communication with victims and witnesses to ensure just outcomes.
