Job description

Applies comprehensive technical and mechanical knowledge and experience to diagnose and resolve repair problems on Thermal, AC power, DC power, Monitoring repair and calibration of equipment assemblies and sub-assemblies down to the Printed Circuit Board component level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Train/Interface with technicians and assemblers to perform modifications that meet corporate and customer requirements.
  • Write support technical documentation and testing documentation.
  • Interface with repair Customer Service Representatives and Management to maintain production, documentation, and quality standards on all repairs as required by customers and the corporation
  • Be responsible for the first-line of technical support to Thermal, AC power, DC power, Monitoring repair and calibration technicians within the department, and provide technical mentorship of new technicians
  • Provide feedback to immediate supervisor on potential problems and corrective action
  • Work with Component Engineers to identify obsolete components and assist with the sourcing of alternate components
  • Take an active role with management in developing and implementing projects that improve the department
  • Proficient ability to solder through-hole and SMT components
  • Daily computer input into current business system, of all aspects of the repair process
  • Perform all work with safety in mind and ensure that all safety measures are met

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide technical leadership/training/support to technicians and assemblers within the Repair group. Fill in on daily problem solving as required in the Repair Manager’s absence

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Four-year Bachelor's Degree in electronics or equivalent experience
  • Five-plus years experience in Thermal, AC power, DC power, Monitoring repair and calibration as a technician dealing with electronic component troubleshooting and repair down to the component level
  • Must be able to correctly analyze and interpret drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications
  • Must be able to read, write, communicate and understand work instruction, Quality Procedures, Test Procedures and other documentation/procedures
  • Must be adept at utilization and operation of general electronic test equipment
  • Excellent organization skills to work in fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and ability to utilize existing business systems
