Job summary

CBSL Transportation Service, Inc. is seeking a Depot Manager to lead the Depot Department in Reserve, LA. The role oversees operations, ensures safety and quality, and drives efficiency and profitability while coordinating training and development of staff.

The position reports to Operations and requires strong leadership, adherence to safety standards, and a proven ability to optimize depot performance in a transportation environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of FMCSR, DOT, and OSHA regulations.
• Knowledge of ISO tank and tank trailers.
• Knowledge of hazmat and environmental regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft tools.
• Strong written and verbal customer relationship skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience.
• Domestic travel required.

Responsibilities

• Safety and Quality.
• Coordinate, manage and monitor the performance of department.
• Ensure safe operations while maintaining the highest standards of quality.
• Support and direct the training and development of employees.
• Foster a positive culture with motivated employees.
• Utilize financial information to improve profitability.
• Ensure inventories are properly controlled to maintain efficiency.
• Plan effective strategies for the well‑being of the department.
• Direct Depot/Shop Departments policies and procedures.
• Improve, enforce and maintain the operational systems, processes and policies in support of company mission.
• Responsible for departmental production goals.
• Responsible for quality control for the terminal.
• Directly supervise Depot employees including mechanics, welders and equipment operators.
• Interview, hire, and train employees; plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline staff.
