Position Summary

The Depot Attendant assists and oversees the usage of the Recycling/Transfer station facility, performs general labor duties at a transfer station, and completes tasks such as yard clean-up, fueling vehicles and equipment, general vehicle operation, general office maintenance, and other related duties.

Pay Rate: The starting pay rate for this position is $18.00 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain solid waste station machinery such as compactors.
• Maintain the facility by sweeping floors, cleaning, picking up around solid waste stations, mowing grass, moving snow, and scraping ice.
• Keep simple records on vehicle usage, container loading, and equipment performance.
• Ensure a safe working environment for employees and customers.
• Assist customers with unloading trash.
• Inspect loads for unacceptable materials to ensure safety.
• Manage recyclable materials to be taken to the MRF.
• Load trash into semi-trailers using heavy equipment.
• Participate in training and perform other duties to support company goals.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and legal eligibility to work in the US. Experience working as part of a team and 1-year heavy equipment operation preferred. Good listening, communication, problem-solving skills, safety dedication, and a self-directed attitude are expected.
