Job summary

Innovative Defense Technologies (IDT) is seeking a Software Engineer in Deployment in Arlington, VA to lead the deployment of complex microservice architectures. The role emphasizes IaC, Kubernetes, secure deployments, and AI-assisted automation across hybrid environments.

You will supervise a team, manage cloud and on-prem resources, and ensure operational excellence while working in a defense-focused, on-site setting with a Secret clearance requirement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in a technical field.
• 7+ years of software development/deployment experience.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Kubernetes management services (Helm, ArgoCD).
• Experience with virtualization (VMware, KVM, EC2).
• Networking in virtualized environments (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing).
• Automation scripting in Ansible/Terraform/Puppet/Salt; AI-assisted tooling welcome.
• Strong Linux and Bash skills; basic full-stack familiarity (SQL, Python/Java, JavaScript).
• Ability to lead teams and manage multiple projects in Agile environments.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage project scope and deliverables; translate requirements into actionable plans.
• Lead a team to deploy and maintain IaC for multi-site, multi-system apps; leverage AI tools as appropriate.
• Develop and test software across multiple languages and stacks; ensure secure coding practices.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams; participate in design/code reviews; support QA and deployments.
