Job summary

Jobtailor in Voorhees Township, NJ, is seeking a Lead Safety Specialist to manage the Wireless Services safety program and ensure safe project execution across field operations.

You will develop and maintain safety policies, conduct jobsite inspections, coach field personnel, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous safety improvements aligned with OSHA regulations and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of safety leadership experience in wireless telecommunications or related infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
  • Experience supporting wireless construction and field operations.
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Preferred: OSHA 500/510, CHST, ASP, CSP, Competent Climber, Tower Rescue, CPR/First Aid Instructor.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Wireless Services safety program and support safe, successful project execution.
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, customer requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Conduct jobsite inspections, field safety audits, and field observations.
  • Coach employees on safe work practices and verify PPE, fall protection, climbing, electrical safety, and traffic control.
  • Support tower climbing, rigging, lifting, energized work, and other high-risk activities.
  • Partner with Operations to identify risks and develop practical solutions.
  • Participate in project planning, mobilization meetings, safety reviews, customer safety meetings, audits, and field visits.
  • Review JHAs, rescue plans, lift plans, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate safety certifications and training records for field personnel.
  • Conduct safety orientations and recurring safety training.
  • Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, vehicle accidents, property damage, and safety concerns.
  • Perform root cause analyses and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain OSHA logs and safety documentation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, support audits, and recommend program improvements.
  • Ensure company vehicles, equipment, and tools meet safety requirements.
  • Track safety performance and improve field operations and safety culture.
  • Build relationships with employees, customers, subcontractors, and business partners.
  • Coach and develop field personnel through communication and continuous learning.

Job description

Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years of safety leadership experience in wireless telecommunications, utility construction, or related infrastructure industries
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards
  • Experience supporting wireless construction and field operations
  • Experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analyses
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to travel as required
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Preferred: OSHA 500 or OSHA 510 Certification
  • Preferred: CHST, ASP, CSP, or equivalent safety certification
  • Preferred: Competent Climber and Tower Rescue certifications
  • Preferred: CPR/First Aid Instructor certification
  • Preferred: DOT compliance experience
  • Preferred: Experience supporting national wireless customers
  • Knowledge of wireless telecommunications construction, OSHA compliance, tower climbing safety, fall protection, electrical safety, incident investigation, risk assessment, safety auditing, training and coaching, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to access active construction sites and climb telecommunications structures when required
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Leadership with integrity, professionalism, and accountability
