Overview
The Controls Project Manager oversees the deployment of building and electrical monitoring systems (BMS, DCIM, EPMS) across data center construction projects, ensuring timely, on‑scope delivery that aligns with design specifications and coordinating across vendors, engineering teams, and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage scope, schedule, and execution of BMS, DCIM, and EPMS vendors during data center construction.
- Develop detailed scopes of work for controls and site improvement projects.
- Coordinate across multiple stakeholders to align deliverables, requirements, and timelines.
- Lead project meetings, provide status updates, and report progress to Operations, Systems, and Construction leadership.
- Operate effectively within tight project timelines and fast‑paced environments.
Technical Oversight
- Review and provide feedback on controls sequences of operation during design and execution phases.
- Perform comprehensive reviews of BMS and EPMS submittals to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Review and interpret controls drawings and wiring diagrams, Bill of Materials (BOM), and MEP drawings.
- Ensure systems are deployed in accordance with approved scope, design standards, and specifications.
Procurement & Financial Management
- Support procurement activities including RFP development, RFIs, vendor evaluations, and purchase order issuance.
- Manage financial aspects of controls construction contracts, ensuring alignment with project budgets and timelines.
Commissioning & Field Support
- Support and oversee controls‑related commissioning activities.
- Conduct regular site visits to active construction projects to verify installation quality and vendor compliance.
- Ensure all work meets design requirements and applicable codes (e.g., NEC).
Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in controls or electrical construction project management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering disciplines preferred.
- 5+ years of experience working with controls systems in critical environments (data centers, manufacturing, oil & gas, power).
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, engineering documentation, electrical diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, vendors, and competing priorities.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.
Travel & Work Environment
Fast‑paced environment. Travel required.
