Job summary

M9 Solutions is seeking a Deployment Network Engineer to work onsite in support of a government contract for a client located in Springfield, VA. An active TS/SCI clearance is required.

You will support pre-installation, on-site deployment, and go-live testing, performing on-site surveys, configurations, and hands-on implementation while maintaining documentation and security compliance. Expect domestic and international travel.

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline and 7+ years of progressive experience.
  • Strong communication skills and experience using ticketing.
  • DoD Manual 8140 Cyberspace Workforce Qualification Certification for Intermediate level Network Operations Specialist DCWF Code 441.
  • Ability to identify cable colors, markings, or labels.
  • Must be detail-oriented with excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly and to develop and follow SOPs.
  • Deployment of network equipment with working knowledge of network devices and configuration.
  • Able to use device CLI and make configuration changes as needed.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with AWS and Azure cloud environments (IL-2+ a plus).
  • Working knowledge of WAN technology and deployment, troubleshooting different circuit types.
  • Understanding of L1 technologies, cabling, and related infrastructure.
  • Experience creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
  • Installation experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and security/encryption appliances.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols (IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, MPLS, QoS).
  • Juniper/HPE/JUNOS experience is a plus.

  • Experience with cloud provider environments such as AWS and Azure, with IL-2 or higher experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of WAN technology and deployment, and troubleshooting different communication circuit types.
  • Understanding of layer 1 technologies and their capabilities and limitations, including cable management, cable types, media converters, circuits to include CPE, Telco & Demark, etc.
  • Experience in creating network diagrams, rack elevations, and cable drawings.
  • Installation experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and Security and Encryption appliances.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, MPLS, QoS).
  • Juniper/HPE/JUNOS experience is a plus.

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include, but are not limited to, responsibilities of the position, education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, as well as internal equity, location, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.

Salary Range
  • $60,000—$180,000 USD
