Job summary

Comet Cloud in Boston, MA is seeking an on-site Deployment Engineer to own the rack, cabling, power-on, and firmware for customer clusters. You will drive the first-time network connection and establish the quality bar on the deployment floor.

You will collaborate with our senior deployment engineer and vendor partners to ensure smooth installs of advanced hardware, including GB300 NVL72 and Quantum-3 XDR InfiniBand, in travel-heavy deployments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building HPC/AI clusters.
• Ability to lead on-site deployments end-to-end.
• Attention to cable management, labeling and rack layout.
• Familiarity with Linux shell and BMC consoles.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site deployments: racks, cabling, power-on, firmware, and initial networking.
• Set pace and quality bar for the deployment team and vendors on the floor.

When the trucks arrive and the racks land, someone has to own what happens next. That's this role. You lead our on-site deployments: the racking, the cabling, the power-on, the firmware, the moment the cluster first talks to the customer's network. You work alongside our senior deployment engineer and our vendor partners, and you set the pace and the quality bar for everyone on the floor.

This role is for you if

• You've built HPC or AI clusters with your own hands and want to build the biggest ones being deployed anywhere: GB300 NVL72, Quantum-3 XDR InfiniBand, liquid-cooled at densities most people have only read about.
• You're the person a crew naturally organizes around when the install gets complicated.
• You take pride in a rack where every cable is dressed, every port is mapped, and every label is right.
• You can hold your own in a Linux shell, a BMC console, and a conversation with the customer's network team, all in the same afternoon.
