Summary:

The Spanish Speaking Line-of-Sight Support Workeris solely responsible for following and implementing leads direction. This position is responsible for ensuring all youth safety in their care according to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) policy and always maintaining and supporting line-of-sight.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide care and services to youth, ages 13-17
  • Maintain and support youth care worker with providing line-of-sight supervision of assigned children
  • Direct care and monitoring of youth
  • Support with the delivery of educational services based on age appropriateness
  • Engage in recreational and leisure activities with youth
  • Collaborate with other providers on behavioral management policies and protocols
  • Incorporate access to services related to culture, language, and religious observations
  • Ensure the physical safety of the youth
  • Provide same gender supervision for any area where youth regularly undress, including restrooms and showers in accordance with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) guidelines
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to document processes and perform recordkeeping
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Patience, tolerance, and kindness
  • Ability to work flexible hours

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year experience in the child welfare industry working with children and/or adolescents in a social service setting and or 6 months experience working in any social service field, preferred
  • Spanish speaking, required
  • First Aid Certified, required. Note: Training will be provided to earn your CPR & First Aid certification if needed
  • Complete NRCYS Youth Care Worker Certification training
  • Must be able stand, sit, or walk for an extended time; move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces as well as up and down stairs and/or service ramps and lift up-to to 15lbs
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S
  • Must pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check and a background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment
