Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Deployable Aircraft Mechanic 2, a rotational OCONUS position located at Edwards AFB, CA. You will perform minor repairs, troubleshoot and service aircraft and engine systems, and read wiring diagrams and blueprints to repair and install components.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED with 2 years of relevant aviation/aerospace experience, and an active Secret clearance or higher.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience in the Aviation/Aerospace industry and/or mechanical experience and/or A&P certification/experience and/or additional Avionics education/certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
• Willingness to work at Edwards AFB, CA and Palmdale, CA as required by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor structural repairs and modifications.
• Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems; conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
• Reads wiring diagrams and blueprints; fabricates, installs and tests installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Deployable Aircraft Mechanic 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This is a rotational OCONUS position located at Edwards AFB, CA.

You will be responsible for performing minor structural repairs and modifications. Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems. Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions. Performs maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Fabricates, installs and tests installation, routing, clamping and wiring harnesses. Reads wiring diagrams and blueprints.

You may receive additional training to fulfill the daily activities and duties required to meet contract requirements. Assigned work locations are Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA.

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma or equivalent (GED) and 2 years of relevant experience in the Aviation/Aerospace industry and/or mechanical experience and/or A&P certification/experience and/or additional Avionics education/certification.
• Must have an active US Government Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport.
• Willingness to accept customer furnished quarters for a period up to 180 days away from primary work location to support business needs.
• Willingness to perform required work in Palmdale, CA and at Edwards AFB, as determined by business needs.
• Willingness to work a flexible work schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends and support on call status (24 hours-a-day, 7 days-a-week, 365 days a year), as required by business needs.
• Must be able to meet medical requirements and pass a physical for worldwide travel within a reasonable period of time after hiring as determined by the company
• Ability to successfully pass a vision screen test within a reasonable period of time after hiring as determined by the company

Preferred Qualifications

• Current Top-Secret clearance.
• Operational experience.

Primary Level Salary Range: $56,000.00 - $93,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
