Are you ready to put your experience to work at Northrop Grumman? If so, we want you to join our diverse team as an Aircraft Low Observable Mechanic (level 4) located in Edwards AFB, CA.
You will be responsible for all aircraft low observable outer mold line structures, materials, and applications. Your tasks include preparing composite or metallic surfaces for coating applications, mixing and applying sealants, gap fillers, and paints, and performing component-level testing for specification compliance. You may also perform similar duties in aircraft build, modification, or maintenance roles.
You may receive additional training and be cross-utilized into general aircraft maintenance to fulfill daily activities and duties required to meet contract requirements. Aircraft maintenance tasks include performing minor structural repairs and modifications, troubleshooting, repairing, and servicing aircraft and engine systems, and performing maintenance, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, re-assembly, or adjustment of various aircraft systems in accordance with technical specifications, engineering instructions, and FAA regulations. Assigned work locations are Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA.
Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma and 6 years of additional education and/or related experience. Relevant experience in the Aviation and Aerospace industry may be used in lieu of education.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid U.S. passport and accept customer-furnished quarters for a period up to 180 days away from the primary work location.
Ability to meet medical requirements for worldwide travel.
Able to perform work assignments at Palmdale and Edwards AFB, CA.
Willing to work a flexible schedule that may include extended shifts, holidays, and weekends, and support on-call status 24/7.
A current DoD Secret security clearance.
Ability to obtain and retain Special Program access clearance within 365 days from submission as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current DoD Top Secret Clearance.
Aviation and Aerospace Industry operational experience.
Salary Range: $74,900 - $124,800
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers various factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
