This position supports the administration and evaluation of the Quality Assurance Review (QAR) program, an audit like process, for the Michigan Incident Crime Reporting (MICR) Unit, ensuring the accuracy, validity, and compliance of law enforcement crime data submissions. The role manages the annual review schedule, evaluates police reports, incident details, and data systems, while documenting findings within the state's crime repository. It audit's the records management system and provides education and training to participating agencies targeted to over and under reporting, missing data, and compliance concerns. The position also serves as a contact for the Michigan State Police Use of Force submissions to the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Use of Force Data Collection, maintains unit procedures for the program, and manages the QAR system access and permissions.

The Michigan State Police (MSP) is a full-service policing agency with statewide jurisdiction, providing over 60 different services either directly to Michigan residents or in support of other law enforcement agencies. The MSP personnel most visible to the public are the uniform troopers whose primary responsibilities include traffic enforcement, crime prevention and investigation, and community engagement and service.

One year of professionalexperience.
Two years of professionalexperience, including one year of experience equivalent to the intermediate (10) level in state service.
Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
This position requires passing a pre-employment screening, including passing a drug screen, criminal history background check, and a fingerprint check by the Michigan State Police.
