Job summary

H&M in Greendale, WI is seeking a Department Supervisor to help achieve sales and profit goals by delivering the best in-store customer experience. You will work in line with H&M standards, policies, and procedures to meet customer and colleague expectations.

You will lead and develop a store team, collaborate with Visual Merchandiser, and drive omni-channel initiatives while maintaining operations, inventory, and daily opening/closing routines.

About the Role

As a Department Supervisor, you will support the Sales and Profit goals in the store by executing a plan to deliver the best customer experience in the department and overall store. You will work in accordance with legal requirements and H&M standards, policies, and procedures to meet the expectations of customers and colleagues.

A Day in the Life

Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:

Customer Sales & Profit

• You are responsible for supporting the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines.
• Represent yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions.
• Be aware of and take responsibility for your department's strengths, identify commercial opportunities, and work with your Department Manager to act on them.
• Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team can actively promote and sell products to customers.
• Follow up that your team is actively promoting our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) and in-store sustainability initiatives.
• Ensure correct routines in fitting room and checkout, including transactions, returns, and exchanges.
• Ensure all admin routines for both people and operations are handled correctly.

Fashion & Trend Awareness

• Keep up-to-date with fashion scene, trends, tendencies, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers.
• Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge as well as other relevant information during customer interactions.

Team & Development

• Retain and share your knowledge and skills with the store team.
• Collaborate, plan, and work as a team with the in-store Visual Merchandiser team.
• Give and receive feedback with your colleagues to learn, develop, and support each other.
• Maintain regular communication to store colleagues to inform, motivate, and inspire—daily and weekly meetings.
• Ensure all procedures, routines, and legal requirements in all areas of the store are followed.

Retail Operations / Visual & Commercial Execution

• Secure a clean and tidy sales floor and back-of-house including stockroom areas.
• Ensure high fashion quality, visual, and commercial product presentation, with good garment care.
• Secure good stock levels and provide input on allocation to the area team.
• Ensure the full garment cycle—from delivery to garment presentation—and fitting room routines are according to internal standards and routines, utilizing all provided tools and technology.
• Maintain best practice for in-store OMNI services and in-store tech services/tools (Instore Care App, Click & Collect, Smart Store, etc.).
• Secure a strong balance and maintain price signs in-store and throughout the sales floor/store following guidelines according to global and local strategies & sales market/regional requirements to ensure a strong and consistent price perception.
• Update and upkeep BOH areas for all colleagues (key information, health & safety, tidiness, etc.).
• Be responsible for opening and closing of the store daily.

Compensation

Expected base salary range: 19.22‑22.39 hourly    Pay Status: Non‑Exempt, Hourly   EEOC Code: SLS
