Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Department Manager for the Water Resources team in Michigan. A licensed professional engineer is required to be considered.

The role focuses on leadership, strategic planning, and business development across water resources projects, including design, management, and delivery. The department drives profitability through effective project oversight and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• 12+ years of progressive water resources engineering experience is required.
• Michigan PE license is required (or through reciprocity).
• Demonstrated effective leadership, delegation, and strategic thinking skills are highly preferred.
• Proven experience in business development, proposals, and the design, management and delivery of water resources projects.

Responsibilities

• Review and manage department operations to ensure the quality of the technical products.
• Establish effective long-range objectives, goals, and plans for the water resources team.
• Provide technical and management leadership.
• Develop a marketing program in conjunction with discipline goals.
• Advise and assist professionals in other disciplines when expert knowledge and expertise as required.
• Manage activities so an adequate profit is earned on all water resources projects.
• Review monthly productivity and labor hour utilization-rates, reports, and adjust as needed.
• Assign projects to staff and schedules work.
• Evaluate employee performance in accordance with company policy.

Colliers Engineering & Design is currently seeking a Department Manager to join our Water Resources team in Michigan! To be considered, we ask that candidates are a licensed professional engineer.
