Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to complete engineering designs, plans, investigations, and reports with minimal direction and in accordance with engineering best practices. The role focuses on water and wastewater management within feasibility, design, and master planning projects to deliver safe, reliable water distribution and treatment solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in environmental or civil engineering.
• PE preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in civil/environmental engineering with concentration in water/wastewater design.

Responsibilities

• Independently apply extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments.
• Prepare advanced engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
• Utilize advanced techniques, theories and practices to complete assignments.
• Design and review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Develop and apply new and/or improved techniques, processes for designing engineering plans.
• Analyze and interpret data, formulate and solve problems.
• Prepare proposals to provide professional services.
• Provide direction to engineers, technicians and administrative staff.
• Plan and coordinate detailed aspects of engineering work.
• Represent the organization as an expert on engineering assignments.
• Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D and alongside design team managers to complete projects within budgets and deadlines.
• Perform field investigations/site visits as needed.
• Prepare comprehensive draft proposals and change orders for review.
• Prepare conceptual layouts in consultation with PM or client.
• Review hydraulic calculations.
• Review utility layouts.
• Conduct team and select client meetings.
• Provide technical guidance to Engineers and Senior Engineers.
• Prepare and review pump station designs.
• Review contractor submittals, RFIs, and change orders with PM assistance.

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to complete project tasks to meet established requirements with minimal direction and in accordance with engineering best practices. The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the preparation and completion of engineering designs, plans, investigations, and reports.

Water and wastewater management presents unique challenges from environmental, health and economic issues, to regulatory concerns. • Review and respond-to contractor shop drawing submittals, RFIs, and change order requests, with assistance from PM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, or civil engineering.
• PE preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in the civil/environmental engineering field with concentration in water/wastewater design.
• Experience with AutoCAD & OpenRoads is desired.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Design experience with water and waste water treatment plant process and design.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
