A Day in the Life
Working at H&M means no two days are ever the same, but a typical day will include the following responsibilities:
Customer Sales & Profit
- You are responsible for the total OMNI customer experience in your store, ensuring visual and commercial curation according to global guidelines
- Representing yourself and the H&M brand positively during customer interactions
- Be aware of and take responsibility for your department's strengths and identifying commercial opportunities and acting on them
- Establish & analyze sales and budget goals, creating plans to optimize results
- Ensure customer service is provided in all areas of the store and that your team actively promotes and sells products to customers
- Follow up to ensure your team actively promotes our Customer Loyalty App (Hello Member) & in-store sustainability initiatives
- Manage your department cost-efficiently
- Ensure routines in fitting room and checkout are followed, including transactions, returns, and exchanges
- Ensure all admin routines for people and operations are handled correctly
Fashion & Trend Awareness
- Keep up-to-date with fashion scene, trends, styles, brands, products, competitors, and relevant influencers
- Ensure your team provides product and fashion knowledge during customer interactions
Team & Development
- Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, performance management, upskilling & developing your team in-store
- Complete performance evaluations and succession planning
- Share knowledge and skills with your team
- Collaborate with in-store Visual Merchandiser team
- Provide and receive feedback to support development
- Plan & schedule your team’s work
- Communicate regularly to motivate and inform colleagues
- Follow procedures, routines, and legal requirements
- Participate in onboarding, training, and development courses
Retail Operations/Visual & Commercial Execution
- Maintain a clean and tidy sales floor and back of house
- Ensure high-quality visual and product presentation
- Maintain stock levels and provide input on allocation
- Manage the full garment cycle and fitting room routines according to standards
- Follow best practices for in-store OMNI services & tech tools
- Maintain accurate price signs following guidelines
- Keep BOH areas organized and safe
- Responsible for opening & closing the store daily
