Position Summary: To provide daily direction and supervision of all aspects of the hospital department, and /or ancillary department(s) within the department. May be responsible for multiple departments and/or locations and report to Executive Director.
Areas of Oversight Summary:
- Daily oversight of department operations
- Staff oversight including to, but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, PTO maintenance, disciplinary action, annual evaluations, ongoing staff development and education, and daily operational support and assistance
- Onboarding of all new providers and staff
- Performsor delegates all payroll entry and approvals
- Troubleshoots problems and develops solutions and /or resolution
- Responsible for conducting monthly business analytics with Executive Director and providers detailing the identified department productivity indicators and relative performance benchmarks
- Responsible for some financial reporting and quantifiable analysis
- Maintain and operate within departmental budgets. Provide annual assistance and insight with the annual budgeting process
- Maintain strong, transparent, and accurate communication with staff, providers, Aultman Hospital leadership.
- Ensure all OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulatory requirements are being met and maintained
- Maintains current TDDD and ensures compliance with DEA and Ohio Board of Pharmacy guidelines
- Maintains current CLIA certificate, oversees microscopy lab functions; ensures provider and staff competencies are current according to policy
- Assists in developing EHR protocols and ensuring all Quality components are being met within the EHR (if applicable).
- Review EHR updates and assists with upgrade implementation as necessary
- Training of providers and staff of EHR updates as necessary
- Working knowledge of all Microsoft products and medical practice systems including, but not limited to, EHR, hospital, and financial management software.
- Implements and enforce hospital policies and procedures
- Serves on required hospital committees as necessary
- Communicate concerns to leadership, including but not limited to the Executive Director of Operations
- Responsible for training and mentoring of department lead ( if applicable).
- Development and Implementation of administrative and clinical policies and procedures
- Cover staffing shortages as necessary
- Work with Central Sterilization regarding instrument processing and equipment issues
- Other duties as assigned by Executive Director
Department Specific Qualifications:
- Ensure department is JACHO compliant
- Follow all HOPD department guidelines
- Maintains medical supply and pharmaceutical inventories
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in business or medically related field preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years medical management experience.
- Must adhere to office policy of yearly TB testing, OSHA and HIPAA training.
- Strong commitment to the organization through exceptional attendance record
- Ability to meet and interact with the public in a mature, courteous, and professional manner

Working Conditions:
- M-F, hours vary as required by the job. Occasional weekends and off -shifts
- Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priority of duties throughout the day.
