Position Summary:

The Department Leader, Reliability is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining reliability systems to maximize asset availability, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through effective Predictive & Preventive Maintenance, skills/OJT training, and sustainability practices (electrical, water, gas, waste). This role reports to the Plant Maintenance Leader and manages the reliability engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop equipment/system asset care strategies using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA), and other methods.
  • Drive proactive, reliability-focused culture across the site.
  • Lead a cohesive reliability team, coordinating support from various departments.
  • Create data collection plans and analyze equipment data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Establish reliability KPIs and support operational excellence initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical resource and train staff on reliability matters.
  • Collaborate on maintenance training programs and sustainability initiatives.
  • Work with Engineering on reliability in new projects and participate in FAT and commissioning as needed.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and communicate successes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering or 8+ years of related experience.
  • 5+ years in maintenance/reliability in manufacturing.
  • 2+ years managing maintenance/reliability teams.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or equivalent certifications required.
Preferred Skills:
  • Proven track record in predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Knowledge of failure modes, root cause analysis, data analysis techniques, and Six Sigma.
  • Experience with large electromechanical equipment, controls, vibration analysis, and nondestructive testing.
  • Strong data analysis skills and communication abilities.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., working in production environments with noise, fumes, dust, etc., and wearing PPE as required.
Supervisory Responsibility:

Manage and assign work to the reliability team, including external vendors and project teams.
