Position Description

The Department Coordinator V oversees both the daily and long-term operations of the University of Louisville Brandeis School of Law’s Law Clinic (“Clinic”). A large part of the Clinic’s operations involves managing both the physical and electronic case management system, providing administrative support to the Clinical staff (including a Director, Professor, and Staff Attorney), and generally serving as a resource for information about the Clinic for students, clients, and court staff. The position also assists in the planning, development, and evaluation of services and activities of the Clinic.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Management of the Clinic’s case management systems and calendar, including running conflict checks and coordination of students’ office hours.
  • Overseeing the Clinic’s expenses and expense accounts, including parking, office supplies, program registrations, and swipe cards.
  • Assisting the Director and staff to develop and produce learning materials and case data forms.
  • Respond to phone calls and voicemail at the Clinic’s front desk and emails to the Clinic’s service accounts.
  • Generally direct and oversee the daily operations of the Clinic’s business.
  • Knowledge of the Law School’s policies and procedures, including academic requirements for successful participation in the Clinic.
  • Participate in professional organizations and trainings in order to improve job performance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills, both for the Clinic’s physical and electronic spaces.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, especially in high-emotion situations.
  • One to three years of experience in an office setting, performing administrative or related work.
  • Experience with survivors of domestic violence and/or litigants facing eviction.
  • Spanish-speaking.

Compensation
