Position Overview

This role involves coordinating nursing activities across multiple service areas within a department. In the absence of the Director, the incumbent may assume 24-hour nursing responsibility for the department. The position may involve working with neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Four (4) years of nursing experience, including at least two (2) years in the relevant specialty area.
  • Ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple activities, and make sound clinical and managerial decisions. Must demonstrate advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Completion of a management course prior to appointment or within six (6) months of employment.
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
Preferred Qualifications
  • National certification in the relevant specialty.
  • Previous management or charge nurse experience.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.).
  • Call Center/Telecommunications experience (2 years), in addition to 1-3 years of nursing experience.
