Job summary

Elite Comfort Solutions, a Leggett & Platt Company, is seeking a Department Coordinator (Bun Shipping) to coordinate activities within a production area to meet schedule. The role is non-exempt and paid hourly, with responsibilities spanning inventory control, quality checks, and process improvements.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, cutting/fabrication experience, and strong computer and inventory skills to support smooth production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate inventory system for production schedule
  • Make recommendations by notifying supervisor to correct problems affecting machine performance, output or quality
  • Participate in the Continual Improvement Process for manufacturing and business processes
  • Ensure quality checks from you and employees
  • Communicate with Customer Service when schedule is complete and when changes may occur
  • Ensure product is cut and wrapped according to customer specifications
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in production area and follow safety procedures

Job Summary

This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the work activities within a production area to accomplish production schedules.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience

Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Maintain an accurate inventory system for production schedule.
  • Makes recommendations by notifying supervisor, to correct problems that could hinder a machine’s performance, reduce output, or affect quality.
  • Participate in the Continual Improvement Process for manufacturing and business processes.
  • Ensure quality checks from you and employees.
  • Communicate with Customer Service when schedule is complete and when changes may occur.
  • To be sure customer expectations are met and daily duties are performed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure product is cut and wrapped according to customer’s specifications.
  • Work with crane operators to ensure proper buns are dropped and are the correct dates requested.
  • Ensure proper information is communicated on any markdowns and charge backs.
  • Make sure all scrap is moved in a timely manner.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in production area. Practice proper safety techniques.
  • Follow all procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and/or requested.
Education
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
  • Cutting/Fabrication experience required.
  • Computer skills and inventory experience required.
