Under the direct supervision of the Interim Director, the Department Coordinator supports the Student Success and Advising Center in assisting a diverse array of candidates pursuing a degreeor credential program in the College of Education. The incumbent is responsible for program administration, administrative andoperational functions and general office support, and collaborateswith other staff members to ensure the effective operation of the Student Success and Advising Center.

Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, andqualifications the candidate brings to the position, internalequity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: TheCSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,367 (Step#1) - $6,362(Step #20) per month.

Equity-minded with proven experience working with diversepopulations. Knowledge of the California Commission on TeacherCredentialing and general credential program requirements. Strongcustomer service and interpersonal skills, including demonstratedpatience, professionalism, work ethic, andfollow-through.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handlemultiple tasks and to be a team player. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to collaborate with administrators,staff, and faculty in a support role. Knowledge of grammar,punctuation and spelling at a level appropriate to thisposition.Experience successfully working with populations that aredemographically and socioeconomically similar to CSULB
Provide evidence of taking initiative in creating solutions,supporting projects, and improving communications. Willingness toengage in staff professional development activities. Demonstratedinterest in supporting student success. Knowledge of and experiencewith MS Excel, MS Word, PeopleSoft. Knowledge of and experiencewith university policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diversecampus community. Ability to follow all university policies,procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety,civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies andprocedures. Ability to contribute to a positive universityexperience for each and every student and assist in achieving theuniversity's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
Candidates/Finalists will be required to undergo testing.
Sedentary work - Involves mainly sitting. Walkingand standing are minimal. Lifting is limited to lightweight objects(10 pounds or less).
