The role you’ll contribute:

Department Chair PA actively participates in outstanding customer service, maintaining respectful relationships. The Department Chair manages the program, including hiring, managing the department's budget, overseeing accreditation requirements, representing the department at the institutional level, and providing mentorship and leadership to staff and faculty. The Department Chair develops, designs, and delivers courses as needed, participates in student advising and mentoring, and engages in teaching, service, scholarship, and research in balance with administrative duties. The role also involves reviewing and revising department policies and identifying community agency linkages for student learning experiences.

  • Represent the Department to Senior Administration
  • Identify community agency linkages for student learning
  • Participate in student scholarly activities
  • Design, coordinate, and implement curriculum

Compliance/Regulatory Responsibility:

  • Develop curriculum aligned with institutional, community, and accreditation standards
  • Review and update department policies and procedures
  • Maintain records for faculty, clinical liaisons, staff, students, and clinical affiliations

Operating & Capital Budget/Financial Responsibility:

  • Develop and maintain the department budget to support faculty
  • Seek external and internal funding sources

Strategic Planning Responsibility:

  • Define departmental vision and strategic plan aligned with the institution’s mission

Performance Improvement Responsibility:

  • Participate in professional organizations
  • Develop improvement plans based on assessment results

Community Relations Responsibility:

  • Exhibit Christian professionalism
  • Participate in service activities at the program and university levels

Staffing/Labor/Supervisory Responsibility:

  • Manage human resources for faculty and staff
  • Oversee course instruction, technology, and scheduling

Qualifications:

  • Master's Science in Physician Assistant
  • At least 5 years of clinical experience as a physician assistant
  • Knowledge of ARC-PA accreditation standards
  • Current Physician Assistant licensure (must obtain in Florida within 6 months)
  • Current NCCPA certification
