Qualifications

PhD, MD, DO or equivalent terminal degree in microbiology, immunology, genetics, or a closely related biomedical discipline.
Eligibility for appointment at the rank of Professor with tenure in CBTS.
Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.

Responsibilities

Provide academic, scientific, and administrative leadership for the CBTS department.
Maintain an active, externally funded research program while fostering collaboration, mentorship, educational excellence, and scientific discovery.
Lead interdisciplinary collaborations, expand externally funded research, recruit and mentor outstanding faculty, and unite the department around a shared vision for national prominence.
