Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America in Schulenburg, TX seeks a QA associate to monitor glass jar quality on the production line and oversee the Depalletizing unit mechanics.

You will configure the depalletizer, perform inspections, collect pallet data, and use SAP to keep inventory accurate. This night shift runs 10pm–6am, with possible Saturday work and a starting rate of $18.50, rising to $22.67 after 90 days, plus vacation after one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift operator license within 30 days of hiring.
• Ability to perform basic math and measurements.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Configure Depalletizer for daily production.
• Inspect pallets for quality before line entry.
• Report QA issues to Supervisor.
• Record data for each pallet and maintain inventory accuracy in SAP.
• Perform EBI glass inspection tests and manage test jars.
• Report mechanical issues and complete work orders when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness of the glass breaks area.
• Inspect EBI reject jars and collect data.
• Sanitize glass conveyor/rinser areas.
• Use scanners or thin clients to process SAP transactions for inventory/traceability.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely with appropriate PPE.
• Complete paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Follow DFA GMPs and sanitation requirements.
• Perform Master Sanitation list tasks when production is idle.
• Maintain a safe work environment and perform other duties as assigned.
• Assist in training new operator.
• Function in a team-based structure and contribute to team efforts.
• Shift Hours - 10pm - 6am - Mon-Fri; some Saturdays may be required based on product demand.

General Purpose:

Monitors the quality assurance of glass jars loaded onto the production line and oversees the computer and mechanical functions of the Depalletizing unit.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configures Depalletizer for daily production.
• Performs quality assurance inspections on each pallet before placing onto the line to ensure that problem glass does not enter the line.
• Reports quality assurance issues to Supervisor as they occur.
• Collects data relating to each pallet of jars that enter onto the line.
• Performs Scantrack EBI glass inspection tests and maintains control of all test jars.
• Reports any mechanical problems and completes work orders when necessary.
• Cleans all glass breaks in the immediate work area as they occur.
• Inspects EBI reject jars and collects data.
• Sanitizes glass conveyor/rinser areas.
• Utilize scanners or thin client units to make SAP transaction for the purpose of maintain accurate inventory levels and ensuring reliable product traceability.
• Handles cleaning chemicals in a safe manner utilizing safety equipment such as gloves, eyewear, etc.
• Completes all necessary paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Follows all DFA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and work in a manner consistent with all corporate, regulatory quality, and sanitation requirements.
• Performs items on Master Sanitation lists when production is not running.
• Maintain safe environment and perform other duties in a safe manner at all times.
• Assists in training new operator.
• Ability to function in a team based structure and positively contributes to team based efforts.

• Shift Hours - 10pm - 6am - Monday - Friday ===Some Saturdays may be required based on product demand
• Starting Rate - $18.50 /.50/hour Shift Differential with Start Times after 2pm
• Rate Increase to $22.67 After 90 Day
• 40 Hours Vacation After (1) Year of Service

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must be able to attain Forklift Operator License within 30 days of hiring.
