Job Description

Located in the vibrant, diverse and thriving Montebello community, the Denver Broncos Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver is seeking a transformational, culturally responsive servant leader to not only meet the cultural and demographic needs of the community but also create a safe, empowering space for youth to thrive.

The Club Director of the Denver Broncos Boys & Girls Club serves as a people-oriented leader responsible for building and maintaining a safe, fun and inclusive space for all Club members while also actively engaging with the community, leading partnerships, and overseeing all site operations. Moreover, this position is a key stakeholder in developing and maintaining the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Denver's storied relationship with the Denver Broncos and the Denver Broncos Community Foundation. Primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Team Management & Administration

  • providing supervision, coaching, guidance, support and feedback to a team of direct and indirect reports varying in roles from assistants to specialists
  • establishing and conducting performance metrics and evaluations for continuous improvement
  • leading the efforts for budget development and monitoring, grant reporting and membership compliance

Program Strategy & Safety

  • guide and support the Program Manager in the implementation and delivery of activities, programs and services
  • provide oversight of effectual programming using data to access participation and other achievement goals
  • lead the safety strategy and provide contributions into the development of policies, procedures and practices
  • serve as the expert onsite compliance expert to ensure all employees, volunteers, and other individuals follow Club protocol and organization procedure

Community Relations

  • actively participate in a variety of community groups that develop and sustain relationships that grows the presence of the Club in the community.
  • collaborate with the Resource Development Team to cultivate partnerships within community organizations and regional school systems to advance programs at the Club site.
  • accountable for achieving all attendance metrics through creative and effective recruitment strategy, planning and implementation.
  • lead the recruitment, selection and supports retention of high-quality volunteers.
  • collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team to increase the visibility, value and impact of services and programs provided by BGCMD within the community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Four years of directly serving youth that must include a demonstrated record of implementing and planning youth programs.
  • Two years of direct supervisory experience that must include hiring direct reports, providing support, coaching and feedback to a team (2 or more staff members) of direct or indirect reports.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is required.

A combination of equivalent education and/or experience performing work in roles directly serving youth may be substituted to meet the minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previously served as a Program Manager or Club Director for Boys and Girls Clubs, afterschool program or other youth serving organization
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, Education Administration or other closely related courses of study.
  • Possession of certifications through the National Afterschool Association, University or community programs focused on youth worker training or trauma informed care certifications
  • Demonstrated cultural competence through work experience in programming with diverse cultural populations
  • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong proficiency in conflict resolution and de-escalation skills/tactics
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask in a high paced, changing working environment
  • Demonstrated advocacy and fundraising skills
  • Strong ability in using creative approaches to engage youth and retain their participation
  • Developed, implemented, maintained programs that addressed needs of underserved youth populations such as academic support, STEM initiatives, sports, and arts.
  • Strong background in building partnerships with local schools, faith- based organizations and community groups in predominantly mixed ethnic communities
  • Developed, implemented, supported mentoring or life skills programs tailored to challenges like economic disparities and access to higher education

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be able to pass screenings for criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
  • The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required.
  • The position requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.
  • The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports, properly document programs, and utilize organizational data.
