Job summary

Lawyers for Justice in Denver is seeking a licensed attorney for an Associate Attorney role focused on wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation. You will support senior attorneys with research, drafting pleadings and motions, and appearing at court hearings.

Requirements include Colorado licensure (or pending admission), 1–3 years of civil litigation experience with discovery, oral advocacy, and depositions, plus willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage-and-hour matters is a plus.

Description

The Associate Attorney will support and assist in the representation of clients in state and federal plaintiff's-side wage-and-hour, class, and representative action litigation against regional, national, and Fortune 500 companies. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, conducting legal research; drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; assisting with deposition preparation and attendance; preparing for and appearing at court hearings; and communicating with clients under the guidance of senior attorneys. Our caseload is growing and the ideal candidate for this position is a licensed attorney who is organized, professional, eager to learn, and committed to achieving strong outcomes for our clients.

Qualifications

• Candidates must be either (a) licensed to practice law in Colorado (b) already licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction and pending admission to the Colorado Bar.
• The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law in Colorado and have 1-3 years of experience in civil litigation, including experience with discovery in the civil litigation context, oral advocacy and appearing in Court, motion practice and taking/defending depositions.
• Prior experience with class actions, complex litigation, and wage and hour litigation is a plus.
• Candidates must be able to travel on occasion.
