Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s College of Dentistry seeks a Financial Aid Advisor to provide expert guidance to students and parents on financial aid eligibility, applications, and debt management. The role splits 60% College of Dentistry and 40% Student Financial Aid Office, with in-person work at both campuses.

You will interpret federal, state, and institutional regulations, ensure compliance, and lead outreach and policy development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant financial aid experience.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and institutional financial aid policies required.
• Ability to work occasional weekends and evenings to support College of Dentistry events.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and parents on applying for financial aid, eligibility, budgeting, and funding strategies.
• Oversee processing of aid, including verification, packaging, and disbursement.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and assist with reporting.
• Collaborate with College of Dentistry and Student Financial Aid leadership; develop outreach materials.
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and contribute to policy development.
