Job summary

Family Health Services seeks a licensed dentist to diagnose and treat dental diseases and provide preventive care. You will examine patients, plan oral health care, perform fillings, extractions, and perform related surgical procedures.

Responsibilities include administering anesthesia when needed, designing dentures, crowns, and referring to specialists. A comprehensive safety and compliance framework supports daily clinical work.

Qualifications

• DDS or DMD degree and licensure in Idaho.
• High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree and successful completion of an accredited DDS or DMD program; must be licensed to work in Idaho.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients' teeth and gums using dental equipment and X-rays.
• Diagnose dental conditions and plan oral health care in consultation with patients.
• Clean teeth and cavities and provide preventive care.
• Repair decayed and broken teeth by placement of fillings and replace teeth when necessary.
• Treat diseases of the gums, tooth nerves and root canals.
• Perform surgical operations to the mouth, jaws, teeth and related structures.
• Give local anesthetics when necessary for carrying out treatment.
• Design, construct and fit dentures, crowns and bridges for replacement of lost teeth.
• Refer patients to dental specialists for further treatment.

Examines patient to determine nature of condition, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and other diagnostic procedures. Cleans, fills, extracts, and replaces teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical implements. Provides preventive dental services to patient, such as applications of fluoride and sealants to teeth, and education in oral and dental hygiene.

Requirements

$131,500 - $159,000 DOE.

There will be an opportunity for multiple bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, Bachelor’s Degree and successful completion of an accredited DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) program; must be licensed to work in the state of Idaho.

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed in a typical interior clinic work environment or a mobile dental unit. Moderate physical activity required. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day. Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment. Will work with blood or blood-borne pathogens and will require OSHA training.
