Join to apply for the Dentist - Pasquotank CI role at NC Department of Adult Correction

Description Of Work

This position is located at Pasquotank Correctional Institution in Elizabeth City, NC.

  1. Take and review medical and dental histories, perform examinations of hard and soft tissues.
  2. Initiate appropriate dental care and treatment for offender patients.
  3. Order diagnostic studies, arrange follow-up and consultation, supervise dental staff in areas such as oral surgery, endodontics, prosthetics, and periodontics.
  4. Provide accurate documentation of procedures in dental and medical charts; monitor infection control, barrier techniques, sterilization.
  5. Ensure offenders receive oral hygiene instructions and are informed of diagnostic and treatment concerns.
  6. Document weekly spore testing and maintenance of equipment; assess offender and staff needs for new programs or adjustments; supervise dental assistants; evaluate operations and suggest improvements.
  7. Respond in writing to offender grievances and DAC Legal as necessary.
  8. Maintain professionalism and positive communication with dental, medical, and custody staff for effective dental office operation.
Additional Details

This is a full-time position (40 hours/week) with State Benefits. Applicants must pass a background check.
