About the job: Dentist Job in Palmyra, VA

Job Purpose

As a licensed dentist, you will provide general dentistry services, including diagnosing and treating diseases, injuries, and malformations of teeth, gums, and related oral structures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Perform general dentistry services, including diagnosis and treatment of oral health issues.
  2. Examine patients to determine conditions affecting them, utilizing x-rays, dental instruments, and diagnostic procedures.
  3. Clean, fill, extract, and replace teeth using rotary and hand instruments, dental appliances, medications, and surgical tools.
  4. Provide preventive dental services and educate patients on oral and dental hygiene.
  5. Coordinate laboratory services for the dental office.
  6. Adhere to safety protocols, including the use of protective equipment and OSHA/Bloodborne pathogen requirements.
  7. Participate in morning huddles, chart reviews, and routine office meetings.
  8. Perform all other duties permitted under applicable state laws and regulations.

  • Commitment to quality patient care and educating patients on dental health.
  • Effective communication skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.

Qualifications (Experience, Education, Licensure, Certification)

  • DDS or DMD degree, licensed in the practicing state or eligible for licensure.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification.
  • Completion of a GPR or AEGD residency is preferred.
