Job summary

Wellpath is seeking a Dentist for the ME DOC Mountain View Correctional facility in Maine. This part-time role involves providing dental services to inmate patients within the institution, following security regulations and maintaining accurate patient records.

The position requires graduation from an accredited dental school, active licensure in the state, CPR certification, and preferably one year of general dentistry experience. Day shift with competitive hourly compensation is offered.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited school of dental medicine.
  • One year of experience in general dentistry preferred.
  • Must have and maintain current licensure as a dentist within the state of employment.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provides dental care and treatment to referred patients in accordance with facility regulations and standards.
  • Performs routine cleaning, restorative dentistry, and extractions as needed.
  • Evaluates patients' dental care needs and makes clinically appropriate recommendations.
  • Takes impressions for dental appliances and instructs patients in good dental hygiene techniques.
  • Maintains accurate and confidential patient records and provides in-service training for health staff members.

How you make a difference

The Dentistis responsible forprovidingdental services to inmate patients within the institution they are assigned to, while adhering to the security regulations of the facility. Theyare required tomaintainaccurateandtimelydocumentation of their services and provide it to the director or designee to ensure compliance with clientcontractand proper compensation for servicesrendered.
